Position Reports to: Refuse Sales & Service Manager
General Purpose: Pac-Tech Manufacturing, a division of Con-Tech Manufacturing, is seeking a Technical Publications Specialist. This position will ensure and maintain accurate up to date parts books, operator’s manuals, and service manuals to aid our customers in supporting their equipment after purchase. This position will work closely with many functional groups within the organization including, but not limited to, engineering, sales, aftermarket parts, and marketing.
Essential Duties:
- This position writes and publishes equipment manuals, service manuals, and parts books in order to
enable our end-users to identify materials used in the construction of the refuse bodies and operations of
them. - Works with Marketing team to keep all manuals up to date on the company’s website
- Review bill of material changes to ensure that all updates are current in all manuals
- Able to manually produce hard copies of the manuals upon request
- Perform graphics work for catalogs, manuals, parts books and similar communication tools
- Communicate with the Engineering, Service and Sales teams effectively.
- Depending on the functions of the role, there may be specific focus for the manuals that are being
produced - Ability to stay on task and work unsupervised
- Other tasks and duties as appointed by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in technical writing, business, engineering/design or manufacturing related disciplines
or equivalent combination of training experience and/or education - Highly competent in SolidWorks Suite and AutoCad
- Experienced in Graphic design skills and/or desktop publishing skills (Adobe Suite or equivalent)
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawing, documents and other technical information
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities
- Solid written communication skills, technical writing, editing and documentation.
- Superb communication skills
- Experience in the heavy-duty trucking industry preferred
